For the pleasure of your ears, listen to the song of the cicadas, the calls of the cranes, or the bleating of the sheep which graze the good hay of the Crau.
Your gaze will be enchanted by the Provençal vegetation, the blue sky so characteristic of the South of France and the Alpilles looming in the distance.
Your nose will be filled with the scent of Provence, its aromatic herbs and other lavender, fig trees and eucalyptus.
As for the taste buds, your hosts have beautiful Provençal flavors in store for you, for a cuisine that gives pride of place to local products.
To touch it, reconnect your body to simple pleasures like walking barefoot in the grass, having lunch or bathing in the early morning.
The place
La Bastide des Martelières is an old farmhouse dating from 1870. Traces of the past are still present, in particular a hay pulley because the floor where two guest rooms are currently located was at the time a barn for hay.
The farmhouse has been completely renovated in a short circuit, and we have favored the intervention of local companies. The rehabilitation has been designed in an environmentally friendly and ecological approach favoring low energy consumption.
It is located just 2 kilometers from the city center of Salon de Provence and benefits from an exceptional natural environment of 6230m² fully furnished with swimming pool, wellness area, landscaped garden, pond, farm animals and parking.
Your hosts
Sandrine and Cédric welcome you to their home. Indeed their main independent residence is at the heart of the estate.
This bed and breakfast project is intergenerational, and it is with great pleasure that they embark on this human adventure, which is rich in meaning. They are keen to share with you their love for this region, this city and this bastide.
Always good advice to make you discover Provence and its most beautiful finery, do not hesitate to ask for them!

The landscaped garden
The mas is surrounded by canals. If you know a little about the Salonais country, you have certainly noticed that many canals run along the fields and the houses. They make it possible to irrigate the fields in dry periods and thus ensure the cultivation of hay from La Crau, famous throughout the world. But they also allow many farms and market gardeners to take advantage of this water, so rare in Provence.
These channels are controlled by "martelières". These are iron structures that distribute irrigation water. La Bastide des Martelières has it, which is why it bears this name. And this precious water has enabled us to create a Mediterranean-style landscaped garden in partnership with the Compagnons du Devoir.

The host table
The rooms are rented with breakfast included. In the evening on weekdays, and by reservation, we offer a catering offer in the form of a table d'hôte.
The menu changes according to the seasons. It is made by your hosts, lovers of good local products and Provençal cuisine.
Out of season, the meal is served in the dining area, around a large wooden table, facing the huge bay window that brings nature into the room. In summer, the meal can be served outside on the adjacent terrace to enjoy the coolness of the evening.
